Contemporary Art Juried Exhibition
July 13 - August 18, 2018
The parallax effect suggests that a work of art is more than the image seen head on. The artist has imbued dimension even in a flat surface as the eye of the viewer absorbs the line, color and form from different angles. Works in 3D take the effect to an even higher plane as the viewer is revealed myriad variations while being able to scrutinize a piece from many sides. New art is subtly created with a step left or right, a view from above or below.
This show, new for 2018, will focus on contemporary works in 2D and 3D across all mediums, including digital formats. Artists will be challenged to submit works that strive to exist in a state of parallax as we set the stage for gallery visitors to take their engagement of art to a new level. Artists who submit digital works will be required to supply all hardware and software and will be responsible for the daily functioning of the submission.
The exhibition is open to artists residing in or attending school in the following Ohio counties: Summit, Cuyahoga, Medina, Stark and Portage. Unfortunately, if you do not live in or attend school in one of these counties, we are unable to consider your work.
Deadline for Entry: Monday, June 11, 2018 at midnight
Entry Fee: $15
Jurying will be done via digital image. Artists may submit one artwork piece per submission for consideration, and may submit up to three high quality digital images (.jpg, .pdf, .tiff. .png) of the artwork entered. Artists may submit up to three entries for consideration in the show, but each entry must be submitted separately. The images must accurately represent the work and accepted work must be professionally presented for exhibition (see notes below).
