Against the Sky Juried Exhibition
Scapes from Sea to City and Summit
October 19 - November 17, 2018
Landscapes and the related genres of cityscapes, seascapes and nightscapes are delineated by boundaries, the most dominant being the sky or other overlay bearing downward. This exhibition challenges artists to translate for the viewer the line and its confluence that separate sky from land as well as evoking geography, architecture, community and nature.
Works chosen for the exhibition will be judged on how well they guide us to understand why audiences are tied to the land and the genre and its long tradition. The juror will be looking for new and bold treatments in expressing a scape. Artists are encouraged to experiment with all media in 2D and 3D as well as digital formats. Artists who submit digital works will be required to supply all hardware and software and will be responsible for the daily functioning of the submission.
The exhibition is open to artists residing in or attending school in the following Ohio counties: Summit, Cuyahoga, Medina, Stark and Portage. Unfortunately, if you do not live in or attend school in one of these counties, we are unable to consider your work.
Deadline for Entry: Monday, September 17, 2018 at midnight

Jurying will be done via digital image. Artists may submit one artwork piece per submission for consideration, and may submit up to three high quality digital images (.jpg, .pdf, .tiff. .png) of the artwork entered.
